Day-to-day IT support
The kind of help you'd get from an in-house IT person, on call when you need it. Phone, email, remote, on-site when the job calls for it.
Independent IT — est. 2000
I'm Muniz Virani. For 25 years, I've been the IT person for small and mid-sized businesses across the Lower Mainland — the ones too big to run on a consumer router and the family laptop, but not in need of a corporate IT department.
About
I solve the problem in front of you with tools that fit your business. No bloated contracts. No seat licenses you don't need. No jargon.
I run a single-person IT practice, by design. When you call, you get me — the same person who set up your network, who knows your line-of-business software, and who remembers what we tried last time.
I work with small and mid-sized businesses in architectural signage, accounting, consulting, and a range of other fields. Most of my clients have been with me for over a decade. Several for more than two.
What I do
A generalist's range — networks, Microsoft 365, custom builds, day-to-day support — backed by 25 years of doing it for real businesses, not slide decks.
The kind of help you'd get from an in-house IT person, on call when you need it. Phone, email, remote, on-site when the job calls for it.
Design, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing care. Ubiquiti and Meraki gear where it fits the room and the budget.
Setup, migration, security settings done right, and ongoing management of the platform most of your business already runs on.
Office moves, new locations, system replacements, and integrations between the tools you already use and don't want to abandon.
Digital directories and kiosks, dashboards, and bespoke solutions when an off-the-shelf product doesn't quite fit your situation.
Plain-English answers about your own business. So you can make decisions without pretending to understand something nobody explained well.
How I work
Three principles that have kept clients with me for decades. They're not slogans — they're how the work actually gets done.
I bill at an hourly rate for the work you actually need. Monthly support arrangements exist when they make sense for your business — and not because a contract demands it.
I bring tools in when they earn their place. A 12-person firm doesn't need the same systems a 1,200-person firm runs on, and I won't pretend otherwise.
Phone and email, answered by me. No ticket queue, no tier-one script, no offshore handoff. When I'm away, you'll know in advance and we'll have a plan.
In their words
The longest-running client relationships are now into their third decade. That doesn't happen by accident.
It's not just IT support. Muniz has been an integral part of our company for years.
— Long-time client
Muniz doesn't just support our computer needs — he understands our business and actively aids in our success.
— Long-time client
He just seems to fix it. I don't understand it, but I like it.

Selected work
A sample of the kinds of projects that fill the days between the everyday support calls.
Wayfinding directories and interactive kiosks designed and deployed for both public-sector and private-sector clients. Hardware selection, software, content management, deployment, and ongoing support.
End-to-end replacement of aging infrastructure for a manufacturing client — structured cabling, switches, wireless, internet redundancy, and cloud integration — cut over with minimal impact on a live production environment.
Several clients have been with Kinetic Solutions for more than 20 years. Across that span: office moves, hardware refreshes, Microsoft 365 migrations, security upgrades, staff growth, and the day-to-day work of keeping a business running.
